From mint green to chocolate brown, this season the popular wedding colors are all over the color wheel! Pantone offers it’s 2012 color of the year-Tangerine Tango as an option for brides, fashion designers and home decor.
“Sophisticated, but at the same time dramatic and seductive, Tangerine Tango is an orange with a lot of depth to it,” said Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute. “Reminiscent of the radiant shadings of a sunset, Tangerine Tango marries the vivaciousness and adrenaline rush of red with the friendliness and warmth of yellow, to form a high-visibility, magnetic hue that emanates heat and energy.”
How’s that for a color explanation? So what colors are you using this year at your wedding? We are seeing a lot of brights in floral bouquets for summer and less pastels.
Many UK brides are opting for mint green hues, though we’ve not seen that on our side of the pond too much. And do you think “chocolate brown” is over? There’s much debate among the event elite circuit–some say chocolate brown is the “new black” and others yawn and complain that it’s “so over.”
